PERFUME TIPS
1. The best spots to apply perfume are the pulse points, because they're consistently warmer than other parts of the body and therefore bring out the fragrance more. Some good spots are: the nape of the neck, behind the ears, and behind the knees. Remember: Coco Chanel once said that you should place perfume anywhere you want to be kissed.
2. Make sure to keep your perfumes in a cool, dry place. Perfumes do "spoil." Exposure to sun can prematurely age a perfume, leading to discoloration, smell alteration and evaporation.
3. Try not to get perfume on your clothes because it may stain. NEVER, EVER spray perfume on silk. It'll ruin the fabric.
4. Reapply your perfume. Fragrance doesn't last forever, so applying every 3 to 4 hours, depending on the strength of the concentration will keep your fragrance fresh.
5. Get creative. Use your fragrance to freshen your laundry, home or car. A little spritz on a fan while indoors, a little spray on the floor mats of the car, or a drop or two in the rinse cycle of the laundry can do wonders to freshen up your environment.
6. Perfume is flammable so be careful. It's great to get creative, like adding a single spritz to a light bulb, but go easy! Excessive perfume and excessive heat don't mix! You don't want to start a fire.
7. Don't overdose. A good rule of thumb is that only those within arms' distance should be able to smell your perfume. Remember that sometimes less is more.
8. Wear perfume every day. Don't save perfume for special occasions. Celebrate each day with a spritz or two of your favorite fragrance to create your signature scent.
9. Sample perfume before buying. Our body chemistry makes perfumes smell different on different people. Try it on because what smells fabulous on your friend may not smell so fabulous on you.
10. Don't put on perfume if you're sunbathing. Perfume and the sun don't mix well, and could result in burning or dark patches.
